These are sites that we like, use, and recommend.  Some of them are stores/shops where you can buy books and others are havens for book lovers.

  • Classic Bookshelf
          http://www.classicbookshelf.com/library/
This site is our most recent find and we love it.  It has popular classics but also some that are harder to find.  The site is free and is a typical free e-book site except that you can choose the background color, font color, font, and font size.  If you don't have a Kindle or a Nook - or even if you do - this is a great site.

  • Persephone Books
          http://www.persephonebooks.co.uk/
This is a publisher's site that specializes in reprinting neglected 20th Century novels, cookbooks, etc. (mostly by female authors).  The books are beautiful with period-appropriate fabric endpapers.  They make great gifts, and many of the titles are ideal for book groups.

  • AllBookstores
          http://www.allbookstores.com/
This is a great site to search for books to purchase online. You don't purchase directly from this site. Instead, you select the title and, in some cases, the edition you want and are given a list of of the websites (including Amazon & Amazon Marketplace, Ebay, etc.) where you can purchase the book. They are listed by price (including shipping) and give details of the book's condition. Once you find the book and the best price, follow the link to the website to check-out!

  •  The Neglected Books Page
           http://neglectedbooks.com/
The is a great site to read posts about neglected or forgotten books. It also has extensive lists of forgotten books collected from various sources.
